DYPC 91.9 FM also known as Y Unay! FM (during the music timeslot) is a Local FM station owned and managed by Mandaue Broadcasting Center in Mandaue City, Cebu. Its studios and transmitter is located at the Mandaue City College-Basak Campus, H. Abellana St., Basak, Mandaue City. The station operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
History DYPC is the first radio station in Mandaue City, Cebu went on the air on July 1, 2013 after Mandaue City College-Basak Campus owned and managed by Dr. Paulus Maiae L. Cañete as the original of the school, which was then broadcasting on 91.8 MHz. It was known as Cebu's very first campus-based broadcast station when our intention is to broadcast information that educates the public, especially young people and students from around the world. Recently, the station ended its broadcast and went off-air late in 2014. After 2 years of campus radio, On February 3, 2015, DYPC resumes as its test broadcast with the new frequency of 91.9 MHz, and flipped its format to news/talk radio which is adopting the amplitude frequency (AM) programming format and as well as music for the rest of the time. It was a local radio station in Mandaue City with the maximum power of brand new 1,000 watts as the part of the Sixth District of Cebu joined with the municipalities of Consolacion and Cordova, specially in some parts of Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City, Talisay City, the entire provinces of Cebu, Iloilo and the rest of Mindanao area. At that time, DYPC 91.9 FM was carries the tagline as "Y Unay!". |
